Manama: A health insurance deal offering coverage for Kuwaiti students living in the United Kingdom came into effect on November 1, an diplomat from the Kuwaiti embassy in London said.
The deal signed with a local insurance company will benefit all Kuwaiti students who submit the necessary documents, Dr Yaqoub Al Tammar, the head of the embassy’s health bureau told Kuwait News Agency (Kuna).
Students should register their names with the Kuwaiti Cultural Office and provide the necessary documents before the December 15 deadline, he said.

The deal with the insurance company will cover all medical expenses at private hospitals and clinics. However, the package will not apply to students in Eire who will be covered by another provider.
Dr Helal Al Sayer, the Kuwaiti health minister, in July approved the health insurance deal to cover the 2,000 Kuwaiti students currently studying in the UK at an expected cost of 835,800 dinars ($3,031,560), Kuna reported.
