Kuwait Health Ministry to add 79 ambulances to fleet
Kuwait Health Minister Dr. Jamal Al-Harbi announced Saturday that 79 new ambulances would join the Emergency Medical Services’ (EMS) fleet in near future, increasing number of ambulances to 298.
And he said nine of the new ambulances would be specially equipped for intensive care and over-weight patients. Al-Harbi, in a statement on sidelines of the final football game of the EMS tournament, said the introduction of the new ambulances was part of the Ministry of Health’s plans to develop the EMS through recruiting paramedics and air ambulances.
The MoH is keen on boosting EMS and improving capabilities of its staff, he said. Al-Harbi said it was important to develop communications between EMS control room and ambulances. Al-Harbi said two Korean medical teams would be visiting Kuwait next month. The first is specialized in transplant and the other in medical information systems, like the e-file of the patient.
